As an attendee of last year's inaugural event, I found the information to be indispensible, not only as an economic development professional, but as a government employee.
Governments are often criticized for "falling behind" as improvements in technology occur. Facing limited resources, it is all the more important to learn how other governmental bodies are embracing technology despite budgetary constraints. Furthermore, it is critical for all layers of government in the Chicago metropolitan area to educate each other on what resources are available, and how to best utilize them. Public-private partnerships are crucial, especially in these economic times, and the Technology Innovation Summit provides some important groundwork and networking on how to make these partnerships happen.
The TI Summit is a valuable resource, and I look forward to attending its second year (of hopefully many more to come). I would recommend that my public sector counterparts participate in this year's event. As we know in most cases, what benefits my community also benefits the entire metro area, and vice versa. As an opportunity to exchange ideas and further educate ourselves, the TI Summit provides a channel of information that will benefit Chicaoland's growth throughout 21st century.
