For nearly two decades Biff Myre has worked with IT-focused organizations (e.g., IBM, Vision Solutions, Tripp Lite, SunGard Availability Services, and Worknet, Inc.) providing solutions to address data sharing, management and protection, disaster recovery, high availability replication and clustering, managed IT services, cloud computing and business continuity across diverse platforms, industries, and clients globally. 

Most recently, Myre’s work has created a paradigm shift in how investments in Disaster Recovery are made with the advent what he calls “Burstable” Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity solutions to improve contingency capabilities with less cost and increased value derived from a data-centric, cloud-based Burstable Disaster Recovery model which also helps organizations maximize their insurance reimbursement at time of need/disaster.

Mr. Myre is a recognized information availability subject matter expert from years of expertise disseminated through various publications, speaking engagements, solution designs, workshops and web seminars.  Myre spoke at the 2009 Gartner Group’s Business Continuity Summit regarding: Managed Services for IT Recovery and Testing: When Right-Sourcing IT Disaster Recovery Makes Good Business Sense. He has numerous articles and speaking engagements around the world to his credit on the topics of disaster recovery, Cloud Computing, IT consolidation, risk assessment and business continuity.  His perspectives and recommendations on availability & systems uptime have been published in at least twelve countries spanning seven different languages.  Mr. Myre has recently been named one of six (6) global experts at www.SearchDisasterRecovery.com and regularly contributes content and articles to this site.
 
Myre also holds an advanced degree in business (MBA) from Illinois State University and, in 2003, passed the Disaster Recovery International’s Business Continuity Professionals (BCP) examination at the Master's level.

  1. Very helpful blog... Disaster recovery cloud is really a big topic to discuss. I have been learning for few months but everyday it feels like I don't know the basic of cloud computing even.
