Maria Thompson’s Thoughts about Government Technology

Maria Thompson

“Freeware.  No such thing. Especially when we talk about the government and municipal Information Technology infrastructure.  As consumers and government workers have ubiquitous access to Smartphone technology, government IT staff must be proficient with supporting - and authenticating and securing - ever-increasing numbers of "free" user applications and data access points. Everyone is a Mobile Knowledge Worker with ready access to Cloud Computing, which can be leveraged by IT staff to cost-effectively deploy, update and maintain worker applications. We will discuss the technology intersection between Smartphones and Cloud Computing and how IT staff needs to change their support model."

“The Technology Innovation summit brings together technology experts and government & municipality workers to create thought-provoking conversations addressing how we might "move from the Information Age to the Understanding Age."
